Sometimes I feel like the Substack is less for the readers and more for myself: it forces me to put down everything I come across, to record ideas, to practice my writing skills, to make event lists for my friends thus avoiding ‘what to see in Paris’ inquiries. I’ve noticed that when composing these emails I ask myself: what do I want to tell or can’t help sharing as opposed to what would you like to read; I end up choosing something inbetween, hopefully.
It’s been a year or so since I started sharing something I call ‘random from last month‘ on my private instagram account. It literally includes the most random pictures from my photo-feed - screenshots, inspiration, funny pictures, etc. Somehow, it became very popular among my friends and they often tell me they enjoy watching it. What if it works for you too?
Articles, that caught my attention:

I love newsletters and have a lot in my inbox daily. I keep on searching for cool authors, attractive content and catchy tone of voice. This month I discovered Absolument! by Kesley Rose Williams. I also enjoy Jerry Saltz’s Favorite Things that’s just been launched.
I set some weird categories to randomness, but you can scroll through beautiful pictures, which is the most important interaction here.
Pink <-> Purple
It’s been a year since I've started working on a dream project to be launched in March 2025. It has a purple/magenta/pink logo. After six months me and the team found out all shades of those colours invading our life. I see it everywhere and put it in a special folder. Moreover, have you ever tried to produce a scent? No? Me neither, but it seems I will do one soon.
Brazilian Interior Tricks
I have my private spy living in Sao Paulo who supplies me with major content, but also with great inspiration. Here are some notes after a live report from the design exhibition over there.
Temporary Architecture and Pavilions
In my series on art advising I mentioned the many skills one needs to be successful. But no one has ever told me that development and construction will become part of my life as well. I really wanna wrap a building in a gold mesh and watch it shimmer under spring sunlight!
Poor Collecting
Once you start collecting, you can’t stop. It’s true. I brought a beautiful ceramic horse from Copenhagen that reminded me of Russian folklore aesthetics. As any immigrant I’ve been trying to erase these culture codes from my soul. Maybe it’s time to accept that part of me too? Now I spend a lot of time surfing through nice objects that would keep me close to my past but still allow me to move forward. Today I went to see my dear friends at Dvir Gallery, and left with an artwork by Adi Fluman. I found it in the storage and asked: “Are these lipsticks or bullets?“
Posh Content
Dinners and private events are also on my mind. I hate them, but I have to think of a few very soon. In order to comfort myself, I research (as usual) and hope to find the balance. Take a look at a cool article about Nicolas Berggruen in Financial Times - it doesn’t comfort me, but it does fascinate me.
Power of Words
There are also tons of memes I will not share here (however, I’m sure that memes as a content strategy might make me famous). But seriously, I believe that Sarah Andelman (founder of a legendary Colette) just found an amazing niche of pop-up merch stores and her experiments in Le Bon Marche and with Art Basel / Basel are to prove it.
Books and Victim of Influencers

I always (always!) screenshot books when people share them online. Then I just go to Audible right away to add it to my wishlist so I don't lose sight of them. Here is the list of what I would call most-likely-be-read books books. I’m a total victim of influencers (as we all are these days) and have to admit that a cigarette holder by Saint Laurent is not just unnecessary but also stupid to buy, but I most likely will. Also, I have a life-circle relationship with silver sneakers, every seven years I return to them. New pair has just been chosen.
The Most Random Uncategorised Stuff
I’m lost what to comment here, no chance for category and a lack of words..
Dries’s Last Show
Last week Mr.Dries van Noten did his last show for his brand. It was touching, bright and beautiful as always. I can’t believe it is happening, but I’m sure the new designer (we all look forward to the announcement!) will be chosen wisely.
It was fun. Meanwhile, I didn’t do much but watched entirely Apples Never Fall and listened to music on the loop.
Enjoy the weekend, talk to you on Tuesday!
Yours,
Miri
